Feeling salty about salt

Grabbed this goodie while at the store today. First time trying it! I've been curious as to why Himalayan salt is all the rage in my health and fitness community. Here's what I've learned:

It's really old (over 250 million years old), it contains the same 84 natural minerals and elements as does our body, it's created in an environment with zero exposure to toxins and pollutants, and it has a BUTTLOAD of health benefits:
- Controls pH balance
- Controls blood sugar
- Anti-aging agent
- Aids in digestion and absorption
- Aids in vascular/circulatory health
- Aids in respiratory function
- Reduces sinus issues
- Reduces cramps (can I get an AMEN, ladies??)

- Strengthens bones
- Promotes healthy sleeping patterns
- Promotes healthy libido
- Promotes kidney and gallbladder health (compared to table salt)

What's wrong with regular table salt, though? Let's see:
- Natural chemical structures are destroyed in the forming process
- Void of nutritional value
- Lacks beneficial trace minerals
- Sodium chloride (what salt becomes during processing) is unnatural in the body and is therefore viewed as toxic
- Body has difficulties disposing of it in a natural, healthy way
- Leads to tissue irritation, water retention, and high blood pressure
- Metabolizing difficulties create a burden on elimination systems
- Leads to cellulite, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, kidney stones, gallbladder stones
Methinks it's time to ditch the zero-nutritional-value, toxic table salt! Having dealt with gallbladder stones that felt like heart attacks, this healthy salt alternative is pretty awesome news.

Himalayan salt is here to stay.
